Lifetime Boost

Create a
Lifetime of
possibilities

Managing a client’s retirement isn’t set and forget. It’s a process of constant evaluation, adaptation and optimisation. We believe the same is true for our retirement solutions.

As the platform Where Growth Happens we constantly evaluate and evolve our offerings to you.  Which is why we are excited to announce that, from 23 November, Lifetime Boost will come as a standard feature for all eligible MyNorth Super clients.

What is Lifetime Boost and how does it work?

Currently, MyNorth Lifetime Super sits alongside MyNorth Super as a standalone account.

From 23 November 2026, all the potential benefits of Lifetime Super will be offered as part of MyNorth Super accounts under the “Lifetime Boost” feature.

As you help your clients build their super balance, Lifetime Boost is also building an Age Pension concession quietly in the background. If your clients later choose to move some of their super into a MyNorth Lifetime Income or MyNorth Deferred Lifetime Income account, this concession may help them receive some or more Age Pension.

When Lifetime Boost is activated, North calculates a separate ‘purchase amount’ based on the starting account balance, plus subsequent contributions accrued at the Government upper deeming rate (rather than actual investment returns), less any commutations. As the deeming rate is generally expected to be lower than long-term returns, the purchase amount may be lower than the account balance, potentially creating an Age Pension assets test concession for future use in retirement.

One small action today, can help better prepare your clients for the possibilities of retirement.

Which MyNorth Super clients are eligible?

From 23 November 2026, Lifetime Boost will be switched on automatically for eligible MyNorth Super clients, being those who are aged under 59 and haven't yet met a nil cashing condition of release, whether new or existing. There's nothing your clients need to do, and there’s no change to their account number, balance, investments or fees.

Clients aged 59 and over won't have it switched on automatically, but you can activate it for them if they are below age 64 years and 10 months, have not met a nil cashing condition of release and personal advice has been provided.

What happens for clients already in MyNorth Lifetime Super?

Clients already in MyNorth Lifetime Super keep everything they have; their account is simply renamed to MyNorth Super, with their same potential benefits under the Lifetime Boost feature. Same account number, same fees and costs, and no change to how their account works today.

At retirement, clients have more flexibility - they're no longer required to transfer out of their account to keep their options open.

A quick FAQ

No. Lifetime Boost comes at no additional cost.

No action is required for clients who are eligible for automatic activation, as Lifetime Boost will be activated from 23 November 2026. Clients aged 59 and over may contact you to discuss whether Lifetime Boost is suitable for their circumstances.

As your clients approach retirement, you may wish to discuss their retirement options with them, including how to make the most of Lifetime Boost. When they meet a nil cashing condition of release, they will have 14 days, with your help, to either choose to use part of their super to open a MyNorth Lifetime Income or MyNorth Deferred Lifetime Income account, or havethe account revert to a standard super account. It’s through the MyNorth Lifetime accounts, that they can access the Age Pension concession built up through Lifetime Boost, which may enhance their Age Pension eligibility. Please refer to the MyNorth Super and Pension PDS for more information about these Lifetime accounts.

For existing MyNorth Super clients, no other changes are being made to their account. Their account number, balance, investments and fees will remain the same. Lifetime Boost is simply being added as a feature to their existing account.

For MyNorth Lifetime Super clients, the only change is name of the account. Any concessions on the ‘purchase amount’ that have already accrued will be retained.

Yes. From 23 November 2026 you have the flexibility to manage Lifetime Boost status for your clients through North Online. This gives you the flexibility to discuss the feature with your clients and determine whether it is appropriate for their individual circumstances. As Lifetime Boost is available at no additional cost and does not lock clients into any future decisions, many clients may benefit from keeping the feature active, but you can advise them to decide what is most appropriate for their needs.
